MANAVGAT:

It is 72 km from Antalya. The waterfall, which is located 3 km north of the Manavgat district and takes its name from this district, is formed by the falling of the river waters from a 3-4 m cliff. Although it is poured from a small height, it flows with a high flow over a large area. In addition, the karst Dumanlı spring, which is the largest of the sources feeding the Manavgat River, remained in the dam lake after the Oymapınar dam was built.

ASPENDOS:

The geographers Strabo and Pamponrus Mela write that the city was founded by the Agrusians. There have been Greek migrations to the region after 1200 BC, whereas the source of the name Aspendos is the native Anatolian language before the Greeks. Since it is on an important trade route and connected to the port by the Köprüçay River, Aspendos has been among the cities that were wanted to be captured in every age. It was under Persian rule until the first quarter of the 5th century. In 2003, documentary director Tekin Gün wrote in his research notes about the cities of Pamphylia. He mentions that the Greek side won the battle between the Greeks and the Persians in 467, known as the Battle of Eurymedon.

SIDE:

The name “Side” means “Pomegranate” in Anatolian language. This feature and the information obtained from some inscriptions in the document show that the history of Side dates back to the Hittites. However, it is also said that Side, one of the oldest settlements in Anatolia, was founded before the 7th century BC. During the Anatolian history, Side went through the same stages as the other Pamphylia cities. The Greeks came to Side during the 7th century BC migrations. According to the inscriptions, they spoke a language specific to the city until the 3rd century BC. This language, which is still not fully deciphered, is an Indo-European language. Side came under the rule of the Lydians in the first half of the 6th century BC and the Persians in 547-546 BC. The city, which developed under Persian rule, surrendered to Alexander in 334 BC. Antigonus (323-304) after Alexander’s death. Ptolemies (301-215). After 215 BC, it came under the control of the Kingdom of Syria. The city, which lived its heyday thanks to the powerful war and trade fleets of the Ptolemies in the 2nd century BC, was rebuilt and turned into a science and culture center during this period. Side, which was left to the Kingdom of Pergamon with the Peace of Apameia in 188 BC, preserved its independence together with the Eastern Pamphylia region and attained prosperity and wealth with its large trade navy.
